Rhys Thomas is Chief Operating Officer of the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal, and is responsible for overseeing the City Deal Investment Framework and providing strategic leadership to the wider development of the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal.
Rhys is also a member of the Innovation Advisory Council for Wales, and a member of the Strategic Advisory Panel for Fintech Wales.
Previously Rhys held a number of roles at Cardiff University most recently as Head of Innovation System and Business Engagement where he was responsible for the strategic advancement and leadership of the Cardiff University Innovation System, including leading and managing the Innovation and Business Engagement teams, and facilitating effective partnership, collaboration and co-ordination with external partners.
Rhys has an undergraduate degree from University of South Wales and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Cardiff University.
In his spare time Rhys enjoys spending time with friends and family, and watching rugby and football.
